Military History

The group currently comprises about a dozen like-minded members of u3a, all of whom are amateurs with a shared enthusiasm for military history.

There is no limitation on how wide the interest is set. Hence the five annual meetings over the last decade have ranged from early Greek battles, through the Napoleonic era, to Enigma, the Women' Land Army, and jets in air power.... Members with a personal interest and/or experience can and do offer presentations, if they wish, but nobody is in the least obliged to do so. Presenters are otherwise identified from group members' contacts who can kindly volunteer to share their knowledge and interest.

A Presentation is given at each meeting. Meetings are held in Yapham Village Hall from 09.30am-12.00 noon on the third Tuesdays of January, March, May, July and October of 2022.   Any amendments will be notified direct to registered group members; any others interested are advised always to check in advance with the group leader as shown below. In order to cover hire of the venue and hot refreshments, all members and attendees contribute to the minimal but essential running costs.  New members welcome.  For further information, please contact the Group Leader.
