The East Yorkshire Accord (EYA) is an association which provides an extended network of u3a branches within the East Yorkshire district, and provides benefits to its entire membership, and Pocklington & District u3a is proud to be a member of the Accord.
The main benefit for us as members is called the “Open Door” agreement, which allows members from any one of the participating u3a’s to attend interest group meetings of another. This will, we hope, increase diversity, expertise, and knowledge, and strengthen and support all groups. Have a look at the websites of our Accord partners, and see if they offer activity or interest groups which are not currently on offer at Pocklington & District. You can attend meetings with our neighbours, and follow up your interest with a new group. In return we also look forward to welcoming members of the other EYA u3a’s attending our group meetings.
Of course, there are rules to be followed, which include:
- The interest group must have member vacancies and scope to accommodate you. The same applies to external members wishing to attend our group meetings. Priority will always be given to members of the originating u3a.
- The group leader must be contacted first and agree to your attendance
- Meeting attendance cost will be as normal for that group.
- Please remember to bring your u3a membership card with you and show on arrival.
Members of the EYA u3a’s are listed below, details of their websites are available on Useful Links:

The Chairpersons of all these meet every three months to coordinate the agreement and share best practices. If you experience any difficulties in using this agreement, or have any questions, please contact the secretary or any one of the committee members via the available links and we will help or advise you.
We feel that the Accord offers us great potential for additional opportunity and enjoyment for all our members, and look forward to a successful future within this wider association.
