The group’s aims and objectives are to learn more about the universe that we live in. Enjoy friendly discussion about the sky that we can see and much more that we cannot see. Keep up to date with the latest news about space and its exploration.
Topics of interest to the group are discussed, supported by presentations and demonstrations. Knowledge and experiences of a wide range of subjects about space are shared.
Learn how to find your way around the night sky. Opportunities to view the moon, planets, stars, and nebulae with the help of others can be arranged.
Occasional trips to places of interest, including observatories and research establishments, are organised.
Give the Astronomy Group a try. You will have fun, meet nice people, expand your mind and see some amazing images. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at the Scout Hut, Burnby Lane, Pocklington. For further information contact the Group Leader.
