English History - 18th Century

A great deal of life in the 21st century has foundations in eighteenth century England. Politics and society; agriculture and industry; art and literature; music and poetry and religion all saw developments of great importance. The monthly meetings will use as an overall guide “What happened in Eighteenth Century England that affects our lives today?”

Most of our topics are contributed by the research of group members.

We will meet on the third Thursday of the month. The venue is Allerthorpe Village Hall at 10.00am about 2 hours. Visits to 18th century places of interest will be arranged from time to time.
