Family History

The Group is aimed to help people research their family history. Using websites set up for this purpose and the other historical records available on-line, that are constantly being added, it is possible to trace your ancestors back through several centuries. However, it is a process that needs patience and diligence but is fraught with potential obstacles and dead ends. The aim of the group is to help one another in this research, sharing our knowledge of the various family history websites, along with tips and advice on how to investigate the online records, as well as helping try and resolve whether a record that appears to relate to an ancestor, is actually correct. The group meets to discuss and share what we have found or are having issues with, on the third Monday morning of each month.   It is open to anyone interested in looking into their history, even if they’re a complete beginner.

If you are interested, please contact the Group Leader.
