Mahjong

The Mahjong Group is growing and we are always pleased to see new members. The game itself is very old and originated in China.  It has many variations but in the main we play a standardised non-scoring game to make it simpler for beginners to grasp. We play every second Friday from 1.00pm - 4.00pm at Mr Chu’s in Hayton and £3 buys you an afternoon of entertainment and a beverage of your choice.  We celebrate Christmas during Chinese New Year, and any excess funds go towards a Chinese Banquet.  Each meeting also includes at least one table of three or four members who like to score  each game, and who would willingly teach any new member the rudiments of doing so.
