Mindful Meditation

Mindful Meditation can positively impact mental and physical health. Whether it’s by reducing stress, improving sleep, increasing focus, or improving relationships and more. We initially utilise a u3a recommended book Mindfulness – A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Prof. Mark Williams (Oxford University) and Dr Danny Penman. Participants will be recommended to purchase a copy which comes with a CD of meditations. The focus is twofold. Firstly, to understand the problems in life many people face and then to discuss how aspects of mindful meditation can help. We do not favour any religion, or sit on the floor cross legged or shout out a mantra or wear special clothes. The meetings are facilitator led and discussion based with 2-3 meditations within each session. We hold weekly sessions at the Meeting Room, All Saints Church, Pavement, Pocklington on Mondays from 10.15am for 10.30am till noon.
